Retirees Association Award for Indigenous Students
At the 2017 AGM, members of the U of C Emeritus Association decided to set up an award called the "Emeriti Association Award for Indigenous Students". With the Emeriti Association being renamed to the U of C Retirees Association at the 2022 AGM of the Emeriti Association, this award became the Retirees Association Award for Indigenous Students. What is CURAC?
The College and University Retiree Associations of Canada /Associations de Retraités des Universités et Collèges du Canada (CURAC/ARUCC) is a not-for-profit federation of retiree organizations* involving over 15,000 retirees at colleges and universities across Canada.
This umbrella organization is also linked into its United States sister association: the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE). Click here to learn more about AROHE.

- Coordinate activities that promote communication among member retiree associations(RAs)
- Share information and provide mutual assistance
- Speak publicly on issues of concern to the over fifteen thousand individuals from college and university retirees across Canada.
- Convey information to the general public, postsecondary institutions, community planners and policy advisors about the contributions that retired academic staff make, or could make, to both university engagement
